I was typing my movie review when I decided to do some research about "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". There are, in fact, there are people who actually won the $/£/whatever 1 million prize! How come there is none in the Indonesian version? And the Indonesian version is not even in Wikipedia! I'M ANGRY AND ASHAMED! Yup, cos in my primary school days I watched the quiz every Saturday night. Gather all the slumdogs and let them join the game please, surely we will get a winner. =.=

Anyway, the point is, I want to share to you guys about what was happening when the first winner, John Carpenter, arrived to his final question.

A) Lyndon Johnson B) Richard Nixon C) Jimmy Carter D) Gerald Ford

John Carpenter used the lifeline Phone-a-Friend.

Regis: ...John you've got thirty seconds, starts right now.
John : Hi, Dad.
Tom : Hi!
John : Um...I don't really need your help, I just wanted to let you know that I'm gonna win the million dollars..."
(crowd laughs, then starts cheering)
John : (with 7 seconds remaining) ...because the U.S. President that appeared on 'Laugh-In' is Richard Nixon and that's my final answer.
Regis: Well, my gosh. What can I say except: Debbie (Carpenter's wife), you're going to Paris, and this is the final answer heard all around the world, he's won a million dollars!
(crowd cheers wildly)
